# 10. ¿Hay pacientes que contagian más que otros?

En otras enfermedades infecciosas se habla de pacientes super esparcidores (super spreaders), que son **aquellos con mayor capacidad de contagiar a otros**. Este fenómeno se describió con el SARS (18). Algunos autores hablan de super esparcidores si un paciente es capaz de contagiar a 10 pacientes. En el caso del SARS CoV-2, hay **un caso descrito** de un paciente en el servicio de Cirugía Torácica con un COVID-19 **grave y letal en 5 días** tras cirugía torácica (19). Este paciente **estuvo en contacto tanto con trabajadores sanitarios** como con **otros pacientes de los cuales 11 se infectaron** por el SARS CoV-2.
